The Government announces Enterprise Zone status for the North Kent Innovation Zone, as part of the Chancellor of Exchequer's Autumn Statement on 25th November 2016.

TGKP responds to Government consultation on proposals for Ebbsfleet Development Corporation

Government publishes details of initial Growth Deals for Local Enterprise Partnerships

On 7th July the Government published details of initial Growth Deals with each of the 39 Local Enterprise Partnerships.  These include allocations for projects and programmes due to commence funding in 2015/16.  The South East Local Enterprise Partnership has been allocated £442.1 million, of which £43.9 million is specifically for projects in North Kent, complemented by other schemes operating across Kent and Medway.  For more information, see South East Local Enterprise Partnership.

European Commission confirms Assisted Area Status for Medway-Swale Arc

On 21 May, the European Commission approved the UK Government's Assisted Areas Map.  Assisted Areas benefit from eligibility for regional aid, other forms of State Aid and certain tax allowances.  The Medway-Swale Arc, extending across much of Medway and Swale from Rochester Airport to Kent Science Park, is included on the map, which takes effect from 1 July 2014.  Click here to see the Government's brief introduction to what Assisted Areas can offer.
