C2E Campaign - Crossrail to Ebbsfleet

The C2E campaign, in which TGKP is a partner, made the headlines on 11 October when the London Evening Standard carried a report about the latest milestone in the campaign.

The C2E partnership, with backing from local MPs and Council Leaders, has submitted the initial Strategic Outline Business case to Government setting out options for extending Crossrail eastwards from Abbey Wood to connect with Ebbsfleet International.  The partnership is seeking Government's support to develop the full business case which will establish a preferred option, funding and delivery arrangements.

London City Airport has also voiced its backing for the extension proposals, which would complement its own ambitions for an Elizabeth Line station serving the airport.

The campaign got a further boost in June 2018 when the Thames Estuary 2050 Growth Commission gave its backing to C2E as a priority investment to support economic and housing growth in the Thames Estuary region - see the campaign's press release from 26 June.
