Response to the Thames Estuary 2050 Growth Commission's Call for Ideas
In July 2016 the Commission issued a 'call for ideas' to inform its work, focusing on the following work streams:
- Creating high productivity clusters
- Increasing connectivity
- Creating new homes and communities
- Securing investment
- Harnessing innovation in the built environment
- Putting it together: centres of excellence
The Commission also posed the question of what lessons can be learnt from previous initiatives in the Thames Estuary.

The Commission was expected to make an interim report to the Government ahead of the Budget in spring 2017, and a final report around the time of the 2017 Autumn Statement. Changes to the Commission's membership and the 2017 General Election changed the timetable. The Commission is now expected to submit its report to Government in spring 2018.
